From August 8 to 16, 2025, the historic city of Silves transforms into a vibrant medieval world for its 20th edition during the annual Feira Medieval de Silves. For nine days, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time – with knights, swordsmen, street performers, market stalls, and fragrant taverns. The medieval character of Silves, once the Moorish capital of the Algarve, provides the perfect backdrop for this large-scale event, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
The streets are covered with straw, visitors wear historical clothing, and there is plenty of entertainment for all ages throughout the day and evening. From falconry shows to fire breathers, and from craft workshops to grand parades: this fair brings the history of Silves back to life.
